Santa Barbara Center for the Performing Arts (SBCPA), in partnership with the Santa Barbara Symphony, is proud to present Camelot in Concert for two performances; Saturday, June 21 at 8:00 pm and Sunday, June 22 at 3:00 pm at the historic Granada Theatre. This special performance comes to Santa Barbara with a world-class cast under the talented direction of Tony Award nominee Marcia Milgrom Dodge, who returns to The Granada Theatre again after staging and directing last spring’s star-studded My Fair Lady in Concert. The famous original score will be performed by the Santa Barbara Symphony, under the direction of James Moore.

On the heels of making its Kennedy Center debut in Washington D.C., the star-studded cast includes Robert Sean Leonard as Arthur, Barry Bostwick as Merlin, Brandi Burkardt as Guinevere, Josh Grisetti as Mordred, and Cheyenne Jackson as Lancelot Du Lac.

Camelot is based on the 1958 T. H. White novel “The Once and Future King.” It was directed and staged by Moss Hart and opened at the Majestic Theatre Dec. 3, 1960, where it ran for 873 performances. The famed 1960 musical features book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner with music by Frederick Loewe. It starred Julie Andrews as Guinevere, Richard Burton as King Arthur and Robert Goulet as Lancelot, winning four Tony Awards in 1961.

This special performance of Camelot in Concert is part of the SBCPA’s efforts to develop a musical theater program of the highest caliber for the community. As a result of the growing popularity of Broadway musical theater, musical TV shows and movies, and Santa Barbara’s rich tradition of community-based musical theater productions, SBCPA has made it a priority to bring more of these entertaining performances to The Granada Theatre for the entire Santa Barbara community to enjoy.
